Unconditional love is unhealthy.
Exactly, and it can also be dangerous. The Kray twin’s mother had such a love, and thus supported her sons no matter what evil they got up to.
the most powerful love in the universe is unconditional love.. a love that has no requirements or conditions.
no actions are necessary to receive it.. this love is all around us and can be easily seen.

We impose conditions upon contact or whatever, but the love, if real is still there. Just as the love for a person who has died is still there, even though the person is not
Up to a point - if my son turned into a child killing paedophile I would still have the “unconditional love” that I had for him before he turned, just as in your example of a dead relative. But I would not love him now – how could I? I couldn’t love any child killing paedophile, so why should my son be any different just because he’s my son. (He’s not by the way, and I love him now as much as ever).

if what some call Love is "conditional", it is not really Love at all
I find this concept rather confusing. Parental love is probably the closest you can get to unconditional love, but should it be truly unconditional? If my son turned out to be a murdering pedophile, should my love continue to protect him? If he turned into another Hitler, Stalin or Pol Pot, should I still love him? Could I even? I don’t think I could. It seems to me that love is always conditional. Conditional on the object of our love remaining a decent human being.
i noticed recently.
there was an item in the news on some terrible / horrific child pornography in germany.
really disgusting to hear what these people were doing with children as young as a few months.
Totally agree with all three of you. On a slightly different slant, I was always amused at those witnesses who gave thanks before eating the wonderful gift god had provided, and then turned their noses up at it because it wasn't cooked to their liking. Such gratitude in the face of so many that are going hungry But why are so many going hungry? - perhaps they just aren't thanking god properly like good JWs.
the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.
his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .
no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.
either way it still makes no logical sense
I never said (nor did I wish to imply) that it made any sense. It is arguably the most absurd explanation of a biblical text ever proposed, but if we're going to shoot it down, we ought to at least be accurate about what we are shooting down
The WTS came up with a theological spin that has no relevance to intellectual honesty or either scriptural support from the bible.
Absolutely agree - you've only got to go to the start of Matthew's gospel to see that (Matt 1:17).

It's been said before (even earlier in this thread) but it seems to need saying again - the WTS does NOT teach "overlapping generations". It teaches ONE generation composed of overlapping groups within that generation.
let's share some notable wts quotations that demonstrate the arrogance, ignorance, hypocrisy etc.
of the watchtower leadership.
“‘zion’s watch tower’ has, we believe jehovah for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.

Reading "older publications" published by the Watchtower is actually encouraged.
It certainly used to be Atlantis, but you will find nothing like the following in any Watchtower written in this century, the irony of this becoming old light is quite striking;
“Those who really are growing in maturity find that familiarity with basic theocratic publications is a tremendous aid ... Their zeal for knowledge may even prompt them to dig back into things that were published long before they came into the truth, expanding and deepening their understanding, and ever growing in Christian maturity. Do you dig out older publications to expand and deepen your knowledge … Have you really studied these earlier publications? ... How is your background of knowledge? ... Studying them is not a chore, but a pleasure when your interest is not in the number of pages you are to read, but rather in the knowledge that you will get, ... Never think: “Oh, I know most of that.” For you will find, indeed, that you do not … And once you have completed your study of them you can then look to even older publications. ... studying earlier publications and digging back through previous issues of The Watchtower ... There is much in the way of spiritual riches and aids toward mature knowledge in these earlier publications, and their study is most certainly worth your time. By checking back through the Society’s earlier publications you will … rejoice to see your understanding continue to grow.” (Watchtower, May 15, 1957, pages 313, 314 and 315).
